Senior missionaries are some of the most incredible missionaries we have in the California Riverside Mission. We have two types of senior missionaries: 1) full-time missions and who have left their homes and families to come to our mission; 2) those who are Church-service missionaries who live at and serve from home. Both senior missionaries groups are those who keep this mission functioning, whether it be working in the office with finances, referrals, mails/correspondence, front desk, cars/bikes, JustServe, service, etc.; being mission nurses, housing inspectors, and coordinators; working with wards and stakes as mission leadership support missionaries; or those helping with food, travel, and transportation.

The Mission Home Christmas tree |
We get together fairly often. This past week, we had a wonderful Family Home Evening where we were able to celebrate Christmas traditions and our love of the Savior Jesus Christ.
|
With the help of two darling sister missionaries, (Sisters Searle and Martin)
we were able to get the Mission Home Christmas tree up and decorated. |
We had a delicious ham dinner with rolls, broccoli salad, potatoes, and yummy chocolate dessert. Everyone brings something to add to the dinner, and it always is so good. We eat more than we should and have incredible conversations.

We so enjoy spending time with these consecrated disciples of Jesus Christ. |
Elder and Sister Davis who are Church Service Missionaries were in charge of the activity, and they planned an ornament exchange. They first discussed the history of ornaments. They had previously invited us to reach bring an ornament that represented us. We all were able to pick an ornament. It was so much fun.
|
All listening to Sister Davis. She explained how the exchange of ornaments would work. |
|
Sister Davis sharing a story about how the Christmas ornaments placed on a tree came to be. |

Part of the allure of having senior missionaries over to the Mission Home is to become better acquainted with them. We all truly enjoy being together and feeling of each other's spirit.

These senior sister missionaries are fantastic kitchen helpers and are always so quick
to clean up after dinner. Thank you so very much, Sisters Powell, Glaus, Shirley, Aird, and Davis! |
We love being with our senior couples. They are absolutely incredible, and without them, the California Riverside Mission would not function. They make our role so much easier and pleasant. They do so much and make it fun! Our missionaries love them all.
We would love to invite all senior couples to feel the need to serve a mission. Every mission president across the world needs you. You would be a gift to them, and your families would be blessed beyond what they/you can ever image.
We love you all!

It is an incredible experience being with these fantastic people. What a blessing! What privilege! They are the best, especially President and Sister Hammon who have touched spirits and changed the lives of hundreds of missionaries, including us. For us right now, there is no better place on earth to be. God truly smiles down on the CRM (California Riverside Mission).
